Quand on pense au bijoux masculin se sont souvent les formes géométriques qui reviennent. Le carré est un basic indémodable que j'ai travaillé ici avec du lézard noir en jouant sur les petits motifs des écailles. On peux biensur décliner cette bague en d'autres couleurs.

Jewelry designer Isabelle Azaïs is a young woman who doesn't just create with decoration in mind, but also has an awareness for social and ecological conditions that reflect very much what creative people are thinking about today. We asked her what was behind her new collection, made out of grains, seeds and other foodstuff that she thought up to coincide with Mother's Day. Isabelle Azaïs : “I like intellectual mothers, strong women and all women who organise projects and businesses, but I also think about the others who have to feed their families in these hard economic timess everywhere in the world.

I just come back from South America, where I have made some creations during a month. I have mixed the ideas of beauty and survival and created jewelry using grains, seeds and beans. The concept is to be able to transform the beauty in food into wearable products. More than gold and silver and without the price fluctuations of diamonds, the most important ‘richness' in the world is to eat, to keep in touch with nature and the grains of life. To see beauty in all the forms around you is a necessity to be able to support the hard conditions of life ; theoretically, these jewels could even be planted to nourish the community.”
